Sunday 9th September 2012
Well today beens a long day! But what a brilliant day it was. Took Ellie to her first show, it was only her second time away from home, the first time was yesterday where we hacked up the road for a lesson in someone elses outdoor arena. She took everything in her stride, all the other horses, the indoor arena, everything! The first class was the riding club horse, however I let her get a bit ahead of me in the show and she was a bit shocked by the atmosphere but didn't put a single hoof wrong! We missed the placing by one place! We then entered the riding horse/hack class, came 2nd with excellent judge comments. The last ridden class we entered was ridden coloured, by this class she had settle incredible and she felt amazing to ride. We came out with a first!! In the ridden championship she was tired, but what can you expect from a recently broken youngster! She was so behaved, couldn't of asked for better. We also entered the coloured inhand class, she had her show off head on and we came first! We then went in the championship and came out with champion! Couldn't of asked for a better day, or a better first show!
So I got back from the Paralympics dressage individual grade II freestyle tests at 4.15am this morning and i'm feeling inspired! Just goes to show that if you set your heart to something you really can achieve it. On horse news, Sari is going back to her owners for the winter so I won't be riding her often until Emily has her back for the summer, Sy is just hacking at the moment due to having her shoes taken off to allow her feet to grow a bit more, and we're getting Ellie ready for her first show on Sunday 9th September 2012. I'll keep you all updated to how that goes. :)
