Opal

Hi, my name is Opal; I am a white and blue 15.1hh Connemara x Cob mare.
I am 9 years old but have not really done very much in my time so they say I have "low mileage". I have been seen by the Dentist and Chiropractor this year and behaved well for both. I am currently barefoot and doing pretty well with that - I do behave myself for the Farrier though and I load and travel very well in either a lorry or a trailer.

Now before you read any further, I think its best if I point out my bad points as it will take a special person to look after me properly.
I've had a bit of a difficult past so am a little nervous when I first meet you, especially once you get on my back so when my owner first got me I got so scarred when being ridden that I would bronk and run away.

My owner was very good to me and with the help of a friend took me back to basics, establishing ground work and trust and I am much, much better now.
They tell me that I am still not a novice ride as I can be quite strong but that I have a lot of potential.

As for my good points, I am an extremely quick learner and absolutely love jumping and have a lot of scope; currently popping 95cms under saddle with ease - I have never refused a jump yet! I also love cantering through the water on the beach (the more I soak my rider, the better!).
I am now at a point that my rider can do most things with me without any problems as I trust her a lot but if a new rider gets on me that is not experienced and confident I think I may get worried again and revert to my old ways so my owner only wants people to come and see me that have the knowledge and skill to avoid this happening.

With the right person I could be a very nice little competition horse as I love showing off and have the flashy paces for it. I hack alone or in company (haven't really seen major traffic though) and must say I am not really fussed what the other horses do when they are out with me. I like to walk in front and lead the way though.

My current owner loves me very much and only wants the very best home for me (home checks will be carried out prior to sale and references are required). I would be available for short term loan before sale at my current yard in Workington, Cumbria, to see if we are a good match but cannot move yards for this purpose.

This advert is on behalf of a friend. If you are interested in this mare, please do not be afraid to contact me and i'll put you through to her rider or owner.

Langacres Ellie

''Ellie'' is a 16.2hh mare by the stallion Emir who is now standing at stud in Australia. Level headed with a very trainable temperment, Ellie would make the perfect competition horse. With outstanding moving, brilliant conformation Ellie would do well in the show ring. She has recently started jumping and is proving to be keen, yet steady to a fence. Competition home wanted for this outstanding mare.

I am advertising her on behalf of her owner.

Penny

Penny is a 3 year old mare, currently standing at 14.3hh, and should make 15.2hh. She has top class breeding behind her. She has a trainable attitude, and would excel in any sphere. Was broken earlier this year, however has just come back into work and proving to work nicely and correctly. Has popped a small jump to see her potential and has recently started hacking. Would suit competative teenager for BSJA or Intermediate WH, or she would also excel in the showing world.

Patsy

Patsy is a 9 year old, unusually marked red and white irish mare. Good to do in all ways. Safe and sensible to suit a novice ride, however will set up a gear for jumping. She has never been stupid or silly. Hacks infront or behind, in company and alone. Has jumped a course including fillers, spreads and hasn't backed off one fence. Jumps 1m with ease. This mare would suit a novice rider, however would also suit a competition/pony club home, or even a mother/daughter share!
